Cricket lovers will have a range of options to choose from this weekend as the Georgetown Cricket Association is set to host a packed semi-finals weekend.
For those who enjoy the longer format, the Noble House Seafoods second division two days semis will see the clash of the giants as Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) hosts Everest Cricket Club. GCC, the defending champions, will be coming with an experienced young bunch including the likes of Mavindra Dindyal, Zachary Jodah, Devon Lord, Martin Pestano-Belle, Rivaldo Phillips, Bernard Bailey and Stephon Wilson while Everest will also be coming with an imposing unit that features West Indies under-19 captain, Matthew Nandu who struck 40 not out, 60 and 68 not out in his last three innings. The squad also has talents such as Richie Looknauth, Dwayne Adams, Amir Khan, Niran Bissu, Joseph Perry Raylex Payne, Ushardeva Balgobin and others.
Meanwhile, Demerara Cricket Club will host Malteenoes Sports club in the other semi-final. DCC has been a force to reckon with at home with a power-packed line up including Sachin Singh, Joshua Persaud, Raymond Perez, Jaydon Campbell, Daniel Mootoo and company.
Also listed is action in the Ramchand Auto Spares/Survival Group of Companies/Trophy Stall under-19 50-over tournament with Muslim Youth Organisation hosting Bel Air Rubis, Queen’s College hosting Transport Sports Club on pitch one. Both matches will be played on Saturday while on Sunday, DCC will face GT XI on pitch one from 09.30 hours.
