Deputy Commissioner of Police, Clifton Hicken yesterday officially took over as acting Commissioner of Police and the leadership of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) has seen more reshuffling with Senior Superintendent, Ravindradat Budhram replacing him as Deputy Commissioner ‘Operations’.
Director of the force’s Corporate Communications Unit, Mark Ramotar in a press release issued last night announced the changes within the GPF.
According to Ramotar, Senior Superintendent Errol Watts will take over from Budhram as Head of the force’s ‘Special Branch’. Watts was Commander of Region Three.
Senior Superintendent Mahendra Siwnarine will now serve as the Commander of Region Three, Ramotar said while adding that Woman Superintendent Denise Griffith will command Region 4B.
Further, the statement added that Superintendent Shivpersaud Bacchus will now head Region Two.
Bacchus previously headed the force training centre. Superintendent Keithon King, Ramotar said will be acting as the force training officer.
President Irfaan Ali on Monday appointed Hicken to act as the Commissioner of Police.
Commissioner of Police, Nigel Hoppie who acted in the capacity proceeded on pre-retirement leave from Sunday, March 27th.
