Two men are currently hospitalised after they attacked each other during an altercation on Sunday at Waramadong Village, Upper Mazaruni.
Injured are Young Williams, a 27-year-old farmer and Lykie Kramer, 61, a cook.
According to a police report, the men, who are known to each other were imbibing when they got into a heated argument.
During the process, the police said Williams allegedly cuffed Kramer in his face.
In retaliation, the police said Kramer allegedly stabbed Williams in his chest and abdomen, causing his intestines to protrude.
Williams then picked up a piece of wood and dealt Kramer several lashes to his head and body, the police added.
Both men were rushed to the Kamarang Hospital where they were treated and admitted. Their conditions are listed as stable.
