Following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bartica Easter Regatta will return next week and a week of activities has been planned.
In a statement, Region Seven Chairman Kenneth Williams, who chairs the Regatta Committee, said the regatta will be promoted under the theme “Bounce Back” to inspire persons to break free from the burdens of the pandemic.
The decision to restart the regatta follows the government’s decision at the start of the month to lift most of the COVID-19 restrictions.
“…and so as a result, even though time is short, the Bartica Regatta Committee has decided that the residents of Bartica and the general Guyanese public will not be denied… the event that they love so much,” the statement said.
