The parents of a nine-year-old boy are seeking the public’s assistance to raise funds so that he can undergo a lifesaving heart surgery.
Dilon Edwards, of Wismar, Linden was born with an enlarged heart. The surgery can be done in Guyana at a cost of approximately $8.3 million (or US$40,000).
His mother, Roxanne Edwards, yesterday told Sunday Stabroek that her child’s condition has worsened over the years. “While he was growing then we getting trouble with it. He get a hole in his heart and when he was six-years-old they said the hole tear…Four months back, some doctor from India come and said the same thing. It tearing more bad,” the woman explained said.
