Accused in theft of motorbike, cellphones remanded

A Garnett Street man, who has pending larceny charges before the court, was on Wednesday remanded to prison after being accused of new crimes, including stealing a motorcycle and cell phones.

Jevon Hubbard was taken before Magistrate Leron Daly in Georgetown, where he was faced with four counts of break and enter and larceny.

Three of the charges stated that between April 2 and April 3, 2022, at Freeman Street, East La Penitence, Georgetown, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Shawn Greene and stole a motorcycle, valued at $265,000, a 65’’ television set, valued at $200,000, an iPhone 6, worth $35,000, and an iPhone 13 ProMax, worth $300,000.

In addition, the fourth charge stated that between the said dates at Anira Street, Queenstown, Georgetown, Hubbard also broke and entered into the property of Razim Khan and stole a bottle of champagne, worth $30,000, a bottle of Absolut Vodka, worth $6,000, a hammer, a sharp blade, nipper and Febreze worth $1,500 each, five grip sponges, worth $1,000, 12 stationery clips, worth $1,000, a sparkling Diamond water, worth $340, and two packs of full cream milk, worth $840.

Hubbard, who has pending matters of similar nature in court, pleaded not guilty to all four charges and was remanded to prison until April 27, 2022.

The prosecutor objected to bail due to the seriousness and prevalence of the offence.
