Dear Editor,
Another great trend going on in schools is not wearing backpacks but using alternatives to carry books such as using recycled rice bags, drink-cases, garbage bags, bins etc. This new trend gives an important message. Many might find this trend a funny and ridiculous one. But after digging deeper on this situation, the message sent here by children are -”I want to go to school no matter by boat, barefoot or whatever it takes” or “I want to be there because I’m serious about my academic life and I don’t care what others think of me “ It is good to see this approach on life early. Because it shows education in Guyana is taken seriously no matter what the obstacle is. There are many solutions to get your child in school no matter what the issue is.
