The Guyana men’s team ended the XXIX Pan Am senior squash championships in eighth place after losing their 7-8 playoff yesterday in Guatemala.
The Guyanese lost to Chile 0-3.
In the preceding 5-8 plate section, Guyana went down to Canada 0-3.
The men’s team reached the quarterfinals of the main draw before bowing out 0-2 to the United States of America on Friday.
The Guyanese had defeated the British Virgin Islands 3-0 in the first round.
Meanwhile, up to press time, Guyana was scheduled to battle Ecuador in the third place playoff in the women’s team division.
In the earlier rounds, Guyana lost to Canada 1-2 in the semi-finals after defeating Argentina 2-0 in the quarterfinals.
