Dear Editor,
Guyana’s “National Day of Prayer and Fasting” was on 8th April, are we done with prayers? No! I am praying daily for the following:
A commonsense vaccine for Guyana’s minibus conductors & drivers, hire car drivers, lorry drivers, GDF and Police drivers; I am praying for a miracle so that Guyana’s contractors (who have the audacity to complain about shortage of workers) will become competent, honourable, and reliable; I am praying for the powers that control speed boat stellings, install handrails on the steps like it was during colonial times; I am praying for Guyana’s youth and young adults to travel within and learn about Guyana’s geography; I am praying for all members of Parliament to work together to pass a bill to make insurance for passenger speed boats mandatory, and, most importantly, I am praying for all of Guyana’s women folk for protection from abusive males.
Sorry City Hall, no amount of prayer can save you.
Sincerely,
H. Persaud
