A superb second innings century from Winston Forrester combined with a half-century and a five-wicket haul from Leon Johnson handed Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) a 130-run win over Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) yesterday.
Resuming the second day on 54 without loss and a lead of 57, GCC romped to 302 for four declared off 55.5 overs in their second innings before bowling out MSC for 175 in 49.5 overs in the GISE/Star Party Rentals/Trophy Stall first-division, two-day league.
Forrester converted his overnight 41 to 176 from just 165 balls while clubbing a whopping 27 boundaries, including two sixes before he was caught at mid-off off of Daniel Ross (2-37). His opening partnership with Navindra Persaud was also converted from 54 to 116 before Persaud was stumped off of Nichosie Barker (1-74) for 25 from 74 balls.
