Crime Chief attended AMERIPOL conference

Crime Chief, Wendell Blanhum recently attended the XIII Conference of AMERIPOL and Council of Directors of the Community of Police of the Americas conference in Barranquilla, Colombia.

The conference was held on April 7th and 8th.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) in a press release issued yesterday said that AMERIPOL is an internationally integrated organisation whose purpose is to promote and strengthen police co-operation in scientific and technical training, as well as to streamline the sharing of information utilized for intelligence purposes.

The release said that the aim of the organisation is to “coordinate” and “enhance” efforts in criminal investigations.

It added that during a voting process, the International Red Cross Committee was elected and welcomed as the newest observer agency to AMERIPOL.
