Fuel company RUBIS recently donated $300,700 in board games and puzzles to the Specialists in Sustained Youth Development and Research Incorporated Inc. (SSYDR), a local not-for-profit organisation.

A release from the company said that it is planned that the gift will support the organisation’s Youth Club which will be launched in Georgetown this month, with plans to open another location in approximately three weeks in Berbice. The Club will cater to young persons ages 14 to 30.

The release said that over the last five years, SSYDR has worked directly with approximately 3000 young persons, aiding them in developing leadership qualities and life skills through training, coaching and mentoring.

Joylyn Johnson, RUBIS Accounts Executive said the company was pleased to play their part to encourage the positive development of Guyana’s youth.

In accepting the gift, Magda Fiona Wills, Founder/Executive Director of the programme said, “SSYDR is extremely delighted and thankful for the support provided by RUBIS for the upcoming launch of the SSYDR Youth Club.”
