Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd (right) on Friday received a courtesy call from Carlos Amador Përez Silva, Ambassador-designate of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Guyana.The Ambassador-designate emphasized his Government’s commitment to friendly relations and strong bilateral ties with Guyana, a release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Caracas had been without an Ambassador here for several years.
Todd welcomed the Ambassador-designate and informed that President Mohamed Irfaan Ali’s Administration remains committed to advancing relations with Venezuela in areas of mutual interest.Todd also reiterated Ali’s commitment to maintaining the region as a zone of peace.
