Castrol Strikers clinched game one of their best of three semifinal series against the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), prevailing 3-1 Tuesday evening in the Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) senior men’s league.
Played at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue, Castrol Strikers stormed to a 25-15 first set win. The lead was then doubled when they clinched the second set 25-18.
However, the army unit reduced the deficit by winning the third set 25-17.
Nevertheless, Castrol Strikers secured the lead in the series with a 25-20 fourth set win.
The other semifinal matchup pits Eagles against Young Achievers.
