A two-storey guest house is currently under construction in the Amerindian community of Bethany in Region Two.
The Amerindian settlement, a beautiful community with many scenic views, is nestled along the contours of Arahuria Creek – an offshoot of the Supenaam Creek – and is accessed by boat.
According to toshao of the village, Sonia Latchman, her community is moving in the direction of eco-tourism and as such her village council made the decision to construct a guest house. The project, she said, commenced some three weeks ago and is funded by the Government of Guyana through the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs’ presidential grant.
