A 17-year-old is now dead after he was stabbed by his foster father while his cousin who was also stabbed by the suspect, is critical.
The attack stemmed from an argument among the trio who were imbibing alcohol at Black Water, North West District (NWD) on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Daniel Wilson.
Meanwhile, the cousin, 19-year-old Ron Moonsammy, is said to be undergoing treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).Police in a report stated that the incident, which occurred about 10 pm on Sunday, was reported to the Mabaruma Police Station at 3:20 am on Monday resulting in ranks being deployed to the scene.
Upon investigating, police learnt that Wilson along with Moonsammy and the suspect, were together drinking alcohol when an argument broke out among them, resulting in the suspect stabbing Wilson with a knife.
Moonsammy, who then intervened in a bid to save his cousin came under attack when the suspect reportedly turned on him with the knife, stabbing him in the chest.
The injured cousin who was rushed to the Mabaruma Public Hospital in a critical condition was medevacked to the GPH shortly afterwards for further treatment.
Wilson’s body is presently at the Mabaruma Hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police have since issued a wanted bulletin for the suspect.
The suspect is said to be 30-year-old Nigel Abraham. His last known address is listed as Lower Black Water, Barima River, NWD.
