Police have issued a wanted bulletin for Venezuelan national, Luis Jose Medina Zapata, also known as ‘Kemos’ in relation to the murder of Venezuelan national Felipe Galaviz which occurred on Friday, April 15.
Nineteen-year-old Zapata’s last known address is Oronoque, Port Kaituma, North West District, and Tucupita, Venezuela.
Anyone who has seen the suspect or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the police on 216-0251, 216-0254, 216-0251, 444-3429, 225-6978, 225-8196 or the nearest police station.
According to a previous police report, on the day in question, at about 11:30pm, Zapata arrived home at Oronoque, Port Kaituma, to find his wife and the victim imbibing alcohol.
An argument ensued which led to a confrontation between Zapata and Galaviz resulting in the suspect stabbing the victim in the neck and shoulder.
Galaviz was rushed to the Port Kaituma Hospital where he was treated but later succumbed to his injuries.
The matter which was reported to the police at 00:45hrs on Saturday resulted in police attending the scene where they arrested five persons including the wife of the suspect.
The suspect has since eluded the police resulting in the wanted bulletin.
