Dear Editor,
The Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown will be conducting a sanitization and cleaning exercise at the Stabroek Market and its environs today from 7 am. The market and vending areas will be closed, Vendors and Stallholders will not be permitted to open, use or occupy your stalls, stands etc, on this day in order to facilitate this clean-up.
Areas in focus are:
● The entire Stabroek Market.
● The Stabroek Bazaar.
● Stelling View Mall – Section 10 (donkey city).
● Stabroek Market Front – Section 7 (the canopy)/ Water Street eastern edge (from Croal and Water streets to the northern edge of Schumaker Street).
● Tarmac behind the fire service building
● Section of Russell Square – including the old ‘dread’ shop area, area north of Russell Square northern entrance
● The media is invited to cover this event.
