The national team is feeling relaxed and confident ahead of this year’s two-day Rugby Americas North (RAN) 7s championships which will kick off on Saturday at the Thomas Robinson stadium in The Bahamas.
This is according to Coach, Theodore Henry.
Following the team’s arrival on Monday, Henry told this publication yesterday that, “I think they are up to the task, the guys are looking relaxed and confident and we are looking to go out there to win.”
In a quest to capture their eighth championship, the side, which is skippered by Jamal Angus, will face Curacao on Saturday at 11:56h. The local ruggers will then face their toughest test, defending champions and nemesis, Jamaica from 15:14h. Their final group match is against the hosts from 18:54h.
A lot is on the line during this year’s fixture.
The event is a qualifier for the 2022 Rugby Sevens World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa in September while members of the British Commonwealth will also be playing for places at the 2022 Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, England in July.
