An elderly Rose Hall Town, Corentyne woman is now in critical condition after she was found yesterday with a slit on her throat in a veranda located in the lower flat of her house.
Jamool Mookshah was found around 5.30 pm yesterday.
According to information gathered, residents heard the woman moaning in pain and decided to check on her since she lived alone. It was at that point that they discovered the woman bleeding from her neck in the veranda.
The police were immediately contacted and the woman was rushed to the hospital where she is currently in a critical condition.
Police are on the hunt for a suspect. The woman reportedly told residents while being rushed to the hospital that she was heading to the backyard while doing her chores when the suspect jumped the back fence and attacked her.
As of last evening, police were at the scene continuing the investigation.
