The Edward B. Beharry & Company Ltd is continuing its long-standing support of Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG), and has donated $1,000,000 towards the entity’s developmental projects.
A simple handing-over ceremony took place yesterday at the company’s Charlotte Street, Georgetown location. Company representative Anjuli Beharry-Strand presented a cheque to YBG Co-Director Rayad Boyce, which marks the 12th consecutive year that the establishment has supported the sporting entity.
During her brief remarks, Beharry-Strand praised the entity for providing a platform for individuals to showcase their respective athletic qualities, whilst adding that participation in sport promotes good sportsmanship and healthy competition between athletes. She further stated that the company is pleased to be associated with the brand.
Meanwhile, Co-Director of YBG, Rayad Boyce thanked the company for its continued contribution towards the development of the discipline, adding that the enterprise has become an established contributor and sponsor of basketball, a relationship which dates back to the 2009 National School Basketball Festival.
