Bidders won the specially arranged Dewars dominoes competition defeating Big Landing and Cats Sunday evening outside Speedy’s Juice Depot on the Wisroc/Amelia’s Ward Cark Park.
Bidders ended with a total of 75 games, edging out Big Landing and Cats who finished on 68 games apiece. Cats eventually were awarded the second spot as they scored move fives in the final after both teams were level on sixes. Bidders pocketed $100,000 and the Dewars Trophy while Cats and Big Landing walked away with $50,000 and $30,000 respectively.
Individually, Jevon Allicock, who ended with 17 games, was adjudged the event’s Player of the Tournament and was awarded the Attorney-at-Law Candacy Welcome Trophy.
Tyrone Perry of Cats was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the final after finishing with a maximum of 18 games. He received the Marlon Fields Trophy.
Gerry Faucet was awarded an accolade for administering the first ‘love’ of the tournament while June Cummings copped the Best Female Player award.
