Three days after he was involved in a serious accident along the Plaisance Public Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD), motorcyclist Ronaldo Saul-Drepaul succumbed to his injuries at a city hospital.
Stabroek News was informed that the accident occurred around 18.55 hrs last Saturday.
Saul-Drepaul, 29, a security officer of Venezuela Scheme, Melanie, ECD succumbed around 8 pm on Tuesday at the Woodlands Hospital.
At the time of the accident, Saul-Drepaul was the rider of motorcycle, CL 902.
Police said that the motorcar, PPP 6446 which crashed into him is reportedly owned by attorney, Prithima Kissoon. It was driven by a 39-year-old. The driver was released on $300,000 station bail as the investigation continues.
According to the police, enquiries revealed that Saul-Drepaul was proceeding west along the southern lane of the public road.
The police said it is alleged that the motorcar drove north out of Prince William Street, Plaisance, onto the Public Road and into the pathway of Saul-Drepaul.
As a result, there was a collision and Saul-Drepaul fell on the road.
He sustained injuries about his body and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Accident and Emergency Unit.
Saul-Drepaul was later transported to the Woodlands Hospital for further medical attention.
