Christopher Griffith kicked off the month of May in fine style, leading a Team Evolution sweep of the podium by soloing to victory on the roads of Berbice yesterday.
Griffith clocked 2:33.45 in yesterday’s scorching hot 60-mile Arokium Memorial road race which started and ended at New Amsterdam with No.43 Village being the turn back point.
The Team Evolution standout who made a solo break from the peloton at Lancaster on the return journey, led his club mates, Curtis Dey and Paul DeNobrega in the sweep.
He further bested a quality 32-rider field which included fourth, fifth and sixth place finishers, Alex Mendes, Kemuel Moses and Mario Washington.
In the 13th edition of the event, Clavecia Spencer and Marica Dick were the top two females while Washington led David Hicks and Adjani Cutting in the junior category.
Mendes, Paul Choowenam and Kwame Ridley were the top three wheelsmen in the veteran category.
The next cycling event is scheduled for Sunday on the outer circuit of the National Park.
