Swag Boss emerged victorious at the Linden Town Week Mayor’s Cup Dominoes Championship, overcoming the challenge of WHO and Gjetsco on Saturday at the Egbert Benjamin Conference Hall in Mackenzie, Linden.
Swag Boss prevailed in the final, as they romped to 80 games, eight ahead of nearest challenger WHO, on 72 games. Gjetsco was a distant third on 50 games.
Swag Boss captain, Arthur Chung, recorded 17 games to finish as the player of the final, while teammate Andre Ferdinand added 15 games. With the result, Swag Boss walked away with $100,000, while the runner up pocketed $40,000. The third place finisher received $20,000.
The nine-team event, which was organised by Westwell Peters, was held in honour of current Linden Mayor Waneka Arrindell. The major sponsors of the event included Snook’s Jewelry, Powers Broad Money, and Life Time Gift Shop.
