PAHO donates computing equipment to GPHC

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) on Friday  donated 46 desk-top computers, one laptop, and 15 tablets to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

At the hospital, PAHO representative, Dr Janice Woolford, handed over the 2nd phase of computer gifts to the corporation, along with back-up batteries for the desk-tops computers.

Woolford, who made brief remarks, said that PAHO was pleased to collaborate with the GPHC and its maternity ward in an effort to improve information flow within the pre-natal health system.

GPHC Chief Executive Officer, Dr Robbie Rambarran, who received the devices, expressed his gratitude and noted that the computers and tablets will help to improve the efficiency of services, as well as the ability to capture and utilise effective data. He added that the departments that will benefit most from the devices are oncology, cardiology, and nephrology.
