Twenty-four-year-old Denzil Haynes was yesterday remanded to prison over the murder of a Sophia resident.
Haynes appeared before Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where he was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
He was charged with the murder of 27-year-old Yardan Jacobs of Lot 5S North Sophia.
The matter will be called again on June 2nd, 2022.
On April 28th, a wanted bulletin was issued for Haynes. On May 3rd, Haynes surrendered at the Brickdam Police Station with his lawyer, Bernard DaSilva, proclaiming his innocence.
According to the Guyana Police Force, Jacobs succumbed to his injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital more than a week after the shooting.
