Police in Regional Division #5 are investigating an accident that occurred on the Bushy Park Public Road at Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara, which resulted in the death of 25-year-old Eshwar Arjune.
The incident occurred around 7.40 am today on the Bushy Park Public Road, Mahaicony. It involved three vehicles — motorcar #PCC 5219, owned by Seepersaud Arjune and driven by 25-year-old Eshwar Arjune (now deceased); motorcar #HD 2859 driven by 26-year-old Kevin Bagot; and a motor Jeep #PJJ 8723 owned by Deodat Ramanand and driven by 19-year-old Jhatan Sukhlal.
Further enquiries, police say, revealed that motorcar #PCC 5219 was proceeding east along Bushy Park Public Road whilst motor Jeep #PJJ 8723, which was proceeding in the same direction behind motorcar #PCC 5219, collided with the rear of the said motorcar, causing the driver of the car to lose control and end up on the southern side of the road.
In the process, it collided with motorcar #HD 2859, which was proceeding west along the southern side of the road.
As a result of the collision, the driver of #HD 2859, along with his reputed wife, and the driver of motorcar #PCC 5219 suffered injuries about their bodies. They were all picked up and transported to the Mahaicony Public Hospital where they were seen and examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced the driver of motorcar #PCC 5219 dead on arrival.
The driver of motorcar #HD 2859, along with his reputed wife who was in the car at the time of the accident, are both in an unconscious state and receiving medical attention at the Mahaicony Public Hospital.
