President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Umar Kremlev is set to be returned to office unopposed after the Court for Arbitration (CAS) for sport yesterday ruled against stopping today’s election in Istanbul, Turkey.
According to the Associated Press, Dutch boxing federation president, Boris van der Vorst, had moved to the CAS to stop the election after he was declared ineligible on Thursday.
Van der Vorst was set to contest the presidency against Kremlev but an independent panel ruled Thursday that he was ineligible, the Associated Press reported.
