All roads will lead to the National Park tarmac, Tho-mas Lands this evening for the semifinals  of the Magnum Independence Cup football competition.

The evening’s action will commence with the semifinals where defending champions Bent Street will face off with fierce rivals Sparta Boss and Gold is Money will take aim at Back Circle.

Back Circle enters the contest after defeating North East La Penitence. To date, they have recorded 17 goals while conceding a joint tournament leading record low of five goals.

Gold is Money secured its place in the final four after overcoming Show-stoppers in the previous round.

The West Ruimveldt side has amassed 22 conversions whilst incurring 12 goals.

The second semi-final engagement will pit Sparta Boss against a storied rival and defending champions Bent Street.

Sparta Boss enters the contest with impressive numbers, tallying 28 goals and conceding a tournament-leading record low of five.

The holders Bent Street has registered 22 strikes while conceding 13 times in their run to the final four section.

Organizer of the tournament Edison Jefford said, “Tonight will determine who has the right to contest for the coveted title in the Magnum Independence Cup. We have witnessed tremendous quality and support from the teams, and supporters in this edition so I envision a riveting and thrilling night of action commencing from the plate section into the semi-final round. May the best team win.”

Bent Street overcame Melanie 5-4 in the quarterfinal section to set up a date with fierce rival Sparta Boss, who made light work of Future Stars 9-0 in the previous section.

Gold is Money overcame Showstoppers 9-7 while Back Circle needled North East La Penitence 4-3.

The winner of the tournament will receive $700,000, and the championship accolade, whilst the runner-up will pocket $400,000 and the corresponding trophy. The third and fourth place finishers will pocket $200,000 and $100,000 respectively.

Meanwhile, the evening’s activities will commence with the Plate Section where  Melanie will battle Future Stars at 19:00hrs and North East La Penitence will oppose Showstoppers from 19:30hrs.

The eventual winner of this section will pocket $40,000.
