Dear Editor,
Two news items on the regional news radar caught my attention. The first was an article reproduced from the ‘Washington Post’ by a local online media outlet alluding ‘St Kitts dissolves Parliament, fires several top officials, including the Deputy PM, in view of a no-confidence motion’ (News Room May 11). Another no-confidence motion, another dissolution of Parliament. The second item ‘CARICOM members discussing boycott of Americas Summit-Rowley’ (SN May 13) over the perceived exclusion of neighbouring Cuba and Venezuela. What is Guyana’s position on this and would it be like the UN vote against Russia where some community member states voted for or against while some abstained?
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
