The Guyana Police Force is mourning the death yesterday of Assistant Superintendent of Police Jermaine Harper.
In a brief statement, acting Police Commissioner Clifton Hicken expressed condolences to the family of Harper on behalf of the force.
Hicken said Harper was an astute leader and a devoted policeman who dedicated his life to the service of his country.
Harper is remembered by his peers as an exceptional policeman. He, with his dedication and efforts, had set records for others to follow and achieve within the Guyana Police Force.
He will always be remembered by the organization for his tremendous contribution, the Police Force said.
Many junior police officers on Facebook said Harper played a role in their careers and served as a mentor.
