Construction worker remanded over two seawall robberies

A construction worker was yesterday remanded to prison after he was charged with two robberies at the Kingston seawall.

Ron McDonald, 20, appeared before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where he pleaded not guilty to both charges.

The first charge stated that on May 14th, 2022, at the Kingston Seawall, whilst being in possession of a knife, he robbed Reshawna Harlett of a Samsung cellphone valued $50,000 and a pink and black purse valued $3,000, a total value $53,000.

It is also alleged that McDonald, on the mentioned date and at the Kingston seawall, and whilst being in possession of a knife, also robbed Alana James of a pink and blue shoulder bag worth $2,000 which also contained $15,000 Guyana currency, a total of $17,000.

The man was remanded to prison and is expected to make his next court appearance on June 6th, 2022.
