The Ministry of Education is inviting trained teachers with three or more years’ service to apply for a scholarship to pursue an approved degree at the University of Guyana.
In a notice on its Facebook page, the Ministry said that the government is offering scholarships at UG for teachers to pursue studies that are approved by the ministry. Interested teachers will have until June 17, 2022 to complete the application and submit to the Human Resources Department at the Ministry of Education’s 21 Brickdam, Georgetown office.
To access the scholarships, teachers must be employed by the government and be no older than 45 years. They must have been trained by the Cyril Potter College of Education with three years of service after training.
It noted that preference will be given to teachers pursuing studies in special subjects such as physics, chemistry, mathematics and information technology. Applications will be addressed based on the immediate, medium and long term needs of the particular school, region or education district the teacher is from.
