The Central Islamic Organization of Guyana (CIOG) in collaboration with the Two Brothers Primary and Geneva Nursery School at Canal # 1, West Bank Demerara on Sunday held a medical outreach for the general public.
A release yesterday from the CIOG said that the outreach was supported by the Guyana Cancer Foundation and SEWA International, the GHPC Eye Care Team, Mike’s Pharmacy, the Blood Bank, the Region 3 RHO Office and the Covid-19 vaccination team.
The primary purpose of the outreach was to provide medical aid to the community and surrounding area in general. The residents were able to have their blood pressure and glucose levels tested and access to mental health care and eye care, with medical advice from general and specialty doctors. Despite the inclement weather the medical team was able to provide care to over 250 persons inclusive of children, elderly and the differently able.
Along with the medical care provided, the release said that the residents present were issued with packages that catered for basic daily necessities, inclusive of disinfectant wipes, face masks, clothing, and pampers (both children and adults) and provided with over-the-counter and prescription medication.
The CIOG thanked the Head Teachers and staff members of the Two Brothers Primary and Geneva Nursery School for their hard work and dedication and their kind support and cooperation and to all the supporting partners.
