Dear Editor,
Out of fairness Editor, I think I have an obligation to update you on what GTT has done after a letter I had written was carried in the Stabroek News. The caption of the letter was: `GTT says my street is un-engineered thus depriving me of landline services’ and was published on May 7, 2022.
Editor, in that article, I outlined the issue I had faced at the hands of GTT in obtaining a landline telephone after waiting over a year.
Following the publication of my letter I was contacted by Mr. Damian Black-burn, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) who apologized for the difficulties I encountered in obtaining the service and assured me that I would get the phone without any further delay.
Editor within twenty-four hours, GTT’s Chief Operations Officer, Eshwar Thakurdin telephoned and informed me that they needed to carry out some work on the ground which his technical team had commenced and on completion of the work I would get my telephone and also internet service.
In less than two weeks the work was done and GTT provided me with my telephone as well with internet service on Monday, May 23, 2022 which compelled me to write this letter as a sign of how satisfied I am.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank Stabroek News for highlighting my story and GTT for providing me with the telephone and internet service which I was in need of.
Yours sincerely,
Rayvonne P. Bourne
