Free transportation for school children and old -age pensioners from Rosignol, Region Five to New Amsterdam, Region Six has been restored.
Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill today commissioned the boats at the New Amsterdam Transport and Harbours Department stelling for that purpose, a release from the Ministry of Public Works said.
The service will be made available from Monday, May 30 and will run from Monday to Friday during peak hours.
Other persons wishing to utilise the service will be required to pay a fee of $140, the release said.
Regional Chairman of Region Six, David Armogan and General Manager of the Transport and Harbours’ Department, Marcelene Merchant were also present.
