A man is now in custody after he was arrested with a quantity of suspected cocaine during a raid of a Charlotte Street, Bourda yard.
According to the Guyana Police Force, an intelligence-led operation was carried out on Thursday at around 12:50 hrs at the Charlotte Street location, where ranks were dispatched.
As the police were entering the yard, however, they observed a male occupant dropping a whitish substance into a heap of sand on the ground next to him.
As a result, the ranks searched the heap of sand and found two small transparent zip-lock bags which contained a whitish substance, suspected to be that of cocaine.
The man was then cautioned, arrested and taken to the Alberttown Police Station along with the suspected cocaine, which amounted to 19 grammes.
