Dear Editor,
I wish to commend the government of Guyana for choosing Essequibo Coast to celebrate this year 56th Independence celebration in grand style. Indeed Essequibians are delighted for this treat with the starting of the event by the paratroopers by the Guyana Defense Force, the huge culmination of a spectacular event at the Damon’s Square in the township of Anna Regina. President Irfaan Ali addressed the gathering after taking the salute by the guard of honour, in the presence of ministers of government.
We are very thankful for this kind grand celebration of our 56th Independence and proud to be a Guyanese. I want to urge fellow citizens to do whatever you can to help our country in its development processes, be it keeping your surroundings clean and tidy or get yourself involved in community groups. Let’s us continue to live in unity and harmony for a better Guyana.
