Newcomer Vengy mauled Kitty-based outfit, Northern Rangers, by an 8-0 scoreline when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Senior Men’s League continued last evening at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.
The contest which was initially slated to commence at 18:30hrs, started more than an hour late, as referees failed to arrive at the venue at the stipulated time. The fixture eventually commenced with two civilians, one being a designated medical personnel, operating in the capacity of assistant referees or linesmen.
Ricardo Halley, and Angel Hines led the assault with respective hat-tricks. Halley found the back of the net in the 19th, 38th, and 64th minute, while Hines etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 29th, 49th, and 67th minute.
Adding goals in the 58th, and 77th minute were DaCosta Abayage, and Jose Vasquez. The event continues on Sunday at the same venue with another round of fixtures.
