Better Hope engineer Neil Rampersaud succumbed today after he was stabbed during a confrontation with a coconut vendor.
In a statement, the police said that the vendor had wounded a friend of Rampersaud’s. The now deceased had demanded that the suspect go to the police station in connection with the wounding. During the confrontation, police said that Rampersaud struck the suspect twice and he retaliated by inflicting stab wounds. Rampersaud was rushed to the Woodlands Hospital where he succumbed during treatment. The suspect is in custody.
