Dear Editor,
From all appearances, it seems the failure to meet, besides grandstanding, perceived disrespect meted out and the promise ‘he must not think I will drop what I am doing and the peoples work’, was simply because the top judicial appointments was not up for discussion. To not respond to the invitation and not show up is disdainful.
To shift the goal post on appointments to be discussed, when this was made known in the letter of invite, is nothing short of pettiness and extreme silliness and borders on the reckless and hotheadedness. So where do we go from here? Somebody will have to show the level of maturity needed to move the process forward.
Yours faithfully,
Shamshun Mohamed
