On Sunday, 30th January, 2022, I tried to withdraw some money at the GBTI Providence ATM machine with my OneCard from Republic Bank. The first try at withdrawal, I got a receipt and my ATM card with no money and I tried again and the said thing happened. The two tries I did, my money came out of my account even though I didn’t receive any money.
On the Monday morning I went to GBTI in Providence to report what happened and I even asked them to run the camera to see that I did not get any money from the machine. I was told that I have to go to Republic Bank to do a dispute form. Went there, I did the form as requested. Got a call from Republic Bank in April requesting me to go back to GBTI in Providence, went there and was sent back to Republic Bank in Diamond.
To date I’m still having the royal runaround between GBTI and Republic Bank. This was reported to the Manager of the Bank of Guyana who is trying his best to help me but it seems like the two banks don’t want to refund my money. It is nearly six months now.
