The man whose body was found with a suspected gunshot wound at Self Help Square, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown has been identified as 49-year-old Dexter Lynch of Madewini, Linden-Soesdyke Highway.
Police yesterday said that Lynch’s brother, Cedric Warrick, a 59-year-old vendor yesterday positively identified his remains.
Lynch’s body was discovered on Sunday with a suspected gunshot wound in his abdomen.
The police had said that they observed his body lying face down, clad in a black 3/4 pants, a multi-coloured shirt with a blue hooded long-sleeve sweater and a black toque on the head.
A black and red Jordan haversack containing two bottles of Hennessey, two male colognes, two male body sprays, two knives and $18,860 cash was also found next to the body.
One suspected spent shell was recovered about 6 feet south of the body, the police had said.
No arrest/s has yet been made.
