Two persons were yesterday charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition after being busted by the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU).
Terry Joseph and Shabanam Pitamber were arraigned at the George-town Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Rondel Weaver and pleaded not guilty to the two charges.
The charge states that on June 4, 2022, at Homestretch Avenue in Georgetown, they had in their possession a firearm, that is to say a .380 Lorcin, semi-automatic pistol, with neither of them being the holder of a firearm licence.
