Police sleuths are heading into the Puruni Backdam, Region Seven where the body of a woman was discovered yesterday.
The woman has been identified as Mariam Edwards.
The police said that it was reported that she had been robbed and murdered by a man who is now in custody.
According to Head of the Police’s Corporate Communications Department, Mark Ramotar, police are heading into the location to conduct investigations.
He said while the report was confirmed by the commander of the area, Dion Moore, details are sketchy but he confirmed that a suspect is in custody.
