Undefeated sides, Barbados Women and Jamaica Women will lock horns today in the fourth round to see who will potentially put themselves in a better position to lift the Cricket West Indies T20 Blaze title.
While both teams are locked on 12 points, defending champions, Barbados, hold a slightly better net run rate of 2.417. Jamaica’s net run rate sits at 1.947 after a close victory over hosts, Guyana Saturday night.
As a result, Guyana are virtually out of contention with just two points, coming from a draw against Trinidad and Tobago and two losses from three matches.
Trinidad are third with six points following their 36-run win over the Leeward Islands on Saturday. Trinidad posted 108 for seven from their full quota with Lee-Ann Kirby top scoring with 26 from 25 balls and Djenaba Joseph 23 from 44 balls, Shenelle Lord with 17 from 19 balls and Anisa Mohammed with 14 not out lent support.
Rozel Liburd and Tiffany Thorpe picked up two wickets each.
Leewards were then contained to 72 for six with only Jenison Richards (24) and Saneldo Willett (19 not out) reaching double figures. Karishma Ramharack bagged 3-4 and Steffie Soogrim picked up 2-17.
Leewards are yet to get on the points table but will have a chance to do so when they face Guyana today under lights.
Trinidad will also have a chance to improve their standing and join the Windward Islands, who are on six points with a win when the two sides battle today.
