The new and improved ‘DO IT BEST Super Store,’ an expansion of National Hardware Limited (NHL) was yesterday opened at their Industrial Site, Ruimveldt location.
A release from the company said that the super store is unique in that it is a 100% self-service establishment.
The Super Store consists of 10,000 square feet of showroom, along with a warehouse facility of 4,000 square feet.
Building materials, hardware items, plumbing and household items and electrical fittings will all be accessible at the Super Store.
According to the Founder and Executive Chairman of the NHL Group of Companies, Edward Boyer, his company has now embarked on a new venture of which he is proud. “We are proud to be embarking on this venture which will positively impact Guyana, especially now given its growth trajectory.”
No information on the size of the investment was provided.
Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Oneidge Walrond, in her address said that the two main objectives of the expansion of the NHL are for Guyanese to realize the dream of owning an affordable home and also for the manufacturing sector to become locally, regionally and internationally competitive.
“The first objective that is impacted by the expansion of NHL…is that every Guyanese should be able to realize the dream of owning their own home…the second objective…is government’s objective of developing our manufacturing sector to become locally, regionally and internationally competitive”, she said.
