(Trinidad Guardian) Police are on the scene of a double homicide at St Mary’s Village, Moruga. The victims have been identified as 35-year-old Surita Aruna Deosaran also known as Warrior Princess and 44-year-old Nigel Chance. Police said they were downstairs their home in the kitchen area when a while AD wagon drove into the yard and several explosions were heard.
Deosaran’s father who lives next door ran to the couple’s home after hearing the explosions and saw them bleeding from gunshot wounds. However, three months ago Deosaran survived a hit on her life. In that incident on March 22, she was driving her grey jeep north along the Moruga Road, St Mary’s Village around 10.30 pm when the occupants of a white Nissan wagon opened fire on her.
In an attempt to get away, Deosaran drove along an embankment but she lost control and collided with a coconut tree. A man came out of the wagon, approached Deosaran’s jeep and opened fire. The gunman then got back into the wagon which sped off. When Insp Santana, Sgt Ishmael and officers of the ERP arrived on the scene, they saw Deosaran in a reclined position in the jeep with a gunshot wound to her neck. They also found a loaded Glock 17 pistol on the floor near the driver’s seat.
