The first edition of the Caribbean Games will be staged in Guadeloupe from June 29 to July 3 and Guyana will be represented in three of the seven disciplines.
This is according to Chef de Mission, Deion Nurse.
Nurse told this newspaper yesterday that Team Guyana’s 21-member contingent will be participating in the disciplines of Track and Field, Basketball 3×3 and Swimming.
The sports which will be contested during the multi-sport Regional championship event are Track and Field, Basketball 3×3, Cycling, Futsal, Judo, Swimming and Netball.
Nurse further stated that Guyana’s participation hinges on the issuance of the French visas which the team members are awaiting.

The Games which are for countries in the Caribbean, Central American country, Belize and South American countries, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana, will be overseen by the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC).
